Parole officer Phyllis McNeal - Best in the Business

Phyllis McNeal chose her job as a parole agent for the California Dept of Corrections (DOC) as a way of showing her gratitude for the support and encouragement she received during her childhood. She came from a dysfunctional family and left home when she was 14 to escape the violence which was common in her family. It was at the Jacqueline Girls' Home where she received the positive encouragement she badly needed. McNeal is in charge of more than 80 felons, training DOC staff and participates in various professional organizations.
