The goal, Rockefeller said, is to attract companies to the Mountain State that will benefit from a lower cost of doing business coupled with a close proximity to Washington, D.C. America will continue to be a target for terrorists, he said, and West Virginia can help the nation be prepared. The mission included visits to the Summit Point Automotive Research Center in Jefferson County, the West Virginia University Research Park site in Morgantown, the Nanosystem Engineering Shared Cleanroom Facility and Biometrics Research and Collection Lab at WVU, the National Biometric Security Project, also in Morgantown, the Department of Defense Biometrics Fusion Center in Clarksburg, Azimuth Inc. in Fairmont and the West Virginia High Technology Consortium, also in Fairmont.
