Client retention concerns rank high in PCPS survey.

The most significant challenge facing CPA firms of all sizes across the nation today, according to the AICPA 2009 CPA Firm Top Issues Survey, is client retention. The AICPA's Private Companies Practice Section (PCPS) CPA Firm Top Issues survey is a bi-annual survey that provides an accurate overview of the most significant challenges facing practitioners across the country.

Results show that while staffing dropped since the last survey, finding qualified staff is still a top 10 concern for firms; new regulations and standards on small firms was a top five concern for small firms, and a top 10 concern for larger ones; partner accountability and succession planning continue to be top issues for large firms; tax law complexity standards...
