The Massachusetts Senate passed a unanimous resolution asking a 15-year veteran, arrested in October on federal corruption charges, to resign. Senator Dianne Wilkerson is charged with accepting eight payoffs totaling $23,500. The charges stem from an 18-month undercover operation by the Boston Police and FBI. The cash was allegedly paid to Wilkerson for helping a nightclub in her district receive a liquor license and influencing legislation on behalf of a large developer.
