Rush Limbaugh. Eminem. Brett Favre. LizTaylor. The names of celebrities admitting and receiving treatment for addiction to prescription medications grows longer each day.
However, prescription drug addiction, once exclusive to the rich and famous, has spilled down to the masses and its list of addicted individuals is far longer."This is a problem that has existed for many years but started to significantly increase over the past five years," says Nora Volkow, director of the National Institute of Drug Abuse (NIDA).
