Panasonic Ag-Hvx200

For many independent filmmakers, Panasonic's AG-DVX100 was a revolutionary high-definition (HD) camera, bringing true 24p acquisition to low-budget productions. Now, with the Panasonic AG-HVX200, the company has produced a camera that could radically change low-budget filmmaking yet again; it offers affordable HD and removes tape from the production pipeline, ushering in an entirely new method of working. For this overview, we tested the HVX200 under a variety of lighting conditions, experimented with the production workflow, and surveyed post technicians and other filmmakers about their experiences with camera.
