Prison managers should establish good media and community relations to keep the public informed about what goes on in the country's correctional institutions and improve corrections' image. Allowing news media access to prisons will enable them to understand and articulate policies and actions that will give the public valuable insights into prison operations and positively influence their perception of corrections.
