A Texas jury awarded the family of a 16-year-old girl $30.4 million on Oct. 3, finding that Ford Motor Co. was primarily at fault in a fatal rollover accident.

The family sued the automaker, saying the roof of their truck failed to protect Jennifer Garcia when the truck she was riding in was hit by motorist leaving a fruit stand. The girl was a passenger in the family's 1993 Ford F-150 when the accident occurred.
