A Canadian university group created the Developing a Curriculum (DACUM) job analysis process over 30 years ago as a fast, dependable and cost-effective method to identify job tasks for training curricula. The National Institute of Corrections started utilizing DACUM in 1989 and presently offers DACUM job profiles, technical assistance to correctional institutions, and curriculum for training DACUM facilitators.
