The Elayn Hunt Correctional Center (EHCC) in St. Gabriel, La., provides public safety through more than just incarceration. The facility's primary mission is to provide a controlled correctional environment to protect the safety of the general public, the surrounding community, the staff and the offender population. However, the commitment does not stop at the razor wire and fences. Staff at this facility have incorporated health education and disease prevention into the realm of what they accomplish on a routine basis.
