Lathrop & Gage announced the promotion of seven attorneys to partner effective Jan. 1. In Kansas City, Ruth Brackney, Cameron Garrison and Pat Kenney were promoted. Brackney has an estate practice, including preparing recommendations on complex estate plans and generation-skipping transfer tax issues and lifetime financial planning for the special needs of children and spouses. Garrison is an intellectual property attorney whose practice focuses on litigation and alternative dispute resolution, as well as counseling clients on a wide variety of intellectual property and technology business issues. Kenney represents clients in commercial litigation in the areas of securities, corporate governance, breach of fiduciary duty, shareholder disputes, noncompetition and non- solicitation covenants, professional liability, breach of contract and condemnation. In Springfield, Joe Johnson and Darynne O'Neal were promoted. Johnson has an intellectual property practice and is a licensed patent attorney. He helps start-up and established corporate clients with intellectual property rights and federal regulatory compliance for new technologies. Business litigator O'Neal works on cases including breach of contract, loan enforcement and insurance disputes. In Overland Park, Kan., business litigator Melissa Sherman and real estate attorney David Waters were promoted. Sherman works on cases from complex business disputes to professional liability actions and has expertise in condemnation law. Waters represents developers, landowners and local governments in planning, zoning and real estate development matters. He is also experienced in municipal law.
Spencer Fane Britt & Browne announced that Overland Park, Kan., attorney Lawrence Jenab has been elected partner effective Jan. 1. Jenab is a member of the employee benefits and ERISA litigation groups. His practice emphasizes ERISA and other aspects of employee benefits law, including tax and fiduciary matters.See the full content of this document
