A motorcycle retailer could not be held liable for negligent entrustment in a wrongful death action by the parents of an inexperienced 18-year-old rider who purchased a motorcycle, the Mississippi Supreme Court has ruled.

The son presented a valid driver's license to the salesman. Although his driver's license lacked an endorsement required to operate a motorcycle on public streets, that endorsement was not necessary to purchase a motorcycle or to operate one off of public streets. He was killed in a fatal accident three days later.
