Massey is working hard to replace production lost at Upper Big Branch through Saturday production at other metallurgical coal mines, through new sections at existing mines and through production capacity at its newly acquired Cumberland Resources Corp. But with the Upper Big Branch mine idled and the prospect of a lengthy investigation, the company reduced its forecast for coal shipped to 35 million to 37 million tons from 37 million to 41 million tons.
