A warrantless search of a car's rear seat cushion did not violate the defendants' constitutional rights, the Massachusetts Court of Appeals has ruled.
The defendants were stopped when their vehicle was going the wrong way on a one-way street in a high-crime area of Boston. The street had been the scene of drug deals and shootings, including the shooting of a Boston police officer.
