Iran sets goal to reduce incarceration.
In June 2007 Iran hosted its first International Conference on Reducing the Use of Incarceration. The conference was organized by the Judiciary Power of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the Islamic Republic of Iran Prisons Organization and the AIDS/ Addiction Research and Intervention Association, in collaboration with the U.N. Office on Drugs and Crime and the Islamic Republic of Iran Psychology and Consultant Council.
