The hotels, restaurants and other attractions in downtown St. Louis will be the primary beneficiaries when the FIRST Robotics Championship competition takes place in April 2011 in the Edward Jones Dome.

But St. Charles County will benefit as well if the national competition helps get youth here interested in math and science and careers in high-tech industries, said Greg Prestemon, president of the county Economic Development Center. "I'm delighted an event of this magnitude is coming to the St. Louis area," he said.
