First Coast Chapter Organizes in Florida, Georgia.

The National Defense Industrial Association officially welcomed the First Coast Chapter to its fold, making it the 27th chapter of the defense and national security member organization. It encompasses areas previously remote to the Gulf Coast, Greater Tampa Bay and Central Florida chapters.

Northeast Florida's strong military presence has a significant economic impact on the region that provides stability and diversity within the local community. Area military installations such as Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport, Naval Submarine Base King's Bay Camp Blanding Joint Training Center, Naval Aviation Depot Jacksonville and Marine Corps Blount Island Command provide employment to more than 50,000 active duty, reserve and civilian men and women.

The new chapter also includes Fort Stewart-Hunter Army Airfield to the North, Moody Air Force Base to the Northwest, Camp Blanding and Florida Army and Air National Guard in St. Augustine and the Gainesville and Cedar Key geographic regions.

The area is also home to a variety of companies such as Nova Power Solutions, Drone Aviation Corp., Crowley Maritime Co., LSI, Magellan Transport Logistics, Micro-Ant, The 3-D Connectors, Prosser, Boeing, Embraer, Northrop Grumman, KBRwyle and many others.
