Special interest groups and other critics have been actively lobbying for the imposition of new restrictions on correctional industries. To counter this, the Massachusetts Dept. of Corrections held a legislative conference last Apr. 12, 1994 to educate legislators, policymakers and other interested parties about the benefits accruing from prison work programs. A brief overview of the conference is presented.
