American Corrections Assn. official Howard Spivak believes that there is an urgent need to address the problem of violence in children and adolescents. Spivak believes that the high rate of violent crime in the US is rooted in the violence young people are growing up with today. He states that children and adolescents who are continually exposed to violence will become callous to it when they grow up to be adults.
