A landowner cannot sue a power company for indemnification for an electrocution that occurred on the property, because a recreational immunity statute protects the power company not only from direct liability but also from indemnification, the California Supreme Court has ruled.

A child was electrocuted when using a metal pole to dislodge his kite from a power line. His guardian ad litem sued the property owner. She then sought indemnification from the power company because it had an easement to maintain the power lines on her property.
