Officials from one of the two Iowa egg production facilities linked to the salmonella outbreak that sickened more than 1,500 people and called for the unprecedented recall of more than 500 million eggs apologized during a hearing before a House committee last week.
"We were horrified to learn that our eggs may have made people sick," said Austin "Jack" DeCoster, owner of Wright County Egg, one of two Iowa egg producing plants linked to the foodborne illness outbreak. "We apologize to everyone who may have been sickened by eating our eggs. I pray several times each day for all of them and for their improved health."See the full content of this document
