Tba Education: Worth Its Weight in Gold

In 1917, the Texas Bankers Association introduced a new feature to its 1,400 member bankers - education work by correspondence courses, using the American Institute of Banking texts for "junior bank men." That single offering has expanded through the years to include approximately 150 live and telephone seminars, six conferences, nine banking schools and the Annual Convention. Workforce Learning Contributes to Financial Performance of Banks

In February 2004, the American Bankers Association compiled the "Human Capital Benchmarking Report" in conjunction with its first Chief Learning Officer summit. In preparation for the Summit, each of the 17 participating financial institutions provided data on their practices, systems and resources for developing and managing employees. The Federal Trade Commission released a statistical survey of fraud in the US that shows that nearly 25 million adults - 11.2% of the adult population - were victims of fraud during the year studied. Certain racial and ethnic minorities were much more likely to be victims of fraud than non-Hispanic whites.
