Nationwide or regional groups often control where the money will go, but recent DHS grants are emphasizing projects promoting communications interoperability and "CBERNIE"-an acronym for chemical, biological, radiological, nuclear, incendiary, and explos...

The studies Siddle used to incorporate heart rate into a generalized optimal performance zone, however, involved physical exertion rather than psychological and/or emotional stress. At any rate, Siddle's basic concepts had a positive influence on police physical skills training in that skill simplicity with teaching physical skills was emphasized (gross motor skills) as well as controlling stress via influencing heart rate by controlling respiration. IZOF Model Because humans arc so differe...

No retaliation or retribution shall be threatened or accomplished by supervisors, command staff members or the chief administrator due to issues brought forth by the PLG The purpose of the PLG is to open the lines of communication between employees a...

Training

Stretching Your Training Budget

The price of an electronic firearms simulator can be costly, but if the agency is large enough, it can be a real bargain by allowing training at the agency with on-duty time. It is still necessary for officers to drive real vehicles for emergency vehicle operations training and to shoot live ammunition at a firing range.

The German philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche said, "A person unlearns arrog...

"What if the homeowner had a hidden security system in his home?" "Is it possible that an ATM camera caught your car driving by the night the gas station was held up?" These questions are not stating that there is a security system, but they do offer the possibility.
